Your cluttered kitchen is a robot test track.
Home-robot labs need stairs, pets, toys and clutter that no lab can fake. Mess Bank books vetted family homes by the day, with consent, a host on site and a spec sheet for every room.

Real, messy family homes, booked by the day as test tracks for home robots.
Home-robot labs need real, varied homes to test in, not a tidy lab kitchen. Mess Bank grades family homes by layout and clutter, then books them to labs for 8-hour Home Days with consent, insurance and a host on site. The household is paid for every booking.
- Step 01
Grades each home by layout and mess
Households apply with a photo and video walkthrough. Agents score clutter, stairs, pets, floor types and kids’ toys, and build the home’s spec sheet.
- Step 02
Matches labs to the homes they ask for
A lab asks for “two flights of stairs, a cat, a dishwasher”. Agents find the homes that fit, set the date and prepare the consent and access packet.
- Step 03
Runs the Home Day, then pays the household
A human host checks IDs and watches safety, kids and pets for the full 8 hours. Agents log any incident and pay the household after the booking.
Built for home-robot and humanoid robot labs.
Home Days
One vetted home for 8 hours, with consent and access agreements, a host on site and a full spec sheet.
A panel of real homes
Stairs, pets, floor types, clutter scores and kids’ toys, so you can test across many homes, not one.
The Mess Bank 50, later
Standard benchmark runs across many homes, plus consented chore-capture data licensed to many labs.
First up: We’re building a catalog of Bay Area homes through an opt-in signup page, and offering robotics startups their first Home Day free.
The world just changed.
What changed, and where it was reported.
Instawork pays workers to film themselves doing housework and sends the footage to partners who train autonomous robots.
Spectrum NewsSunday Robotics is putting 1,000+ Skill Capture Gloves into 500+ households before a late-2026 beta. Figure partnered with Brookfield for first-person video from 100,000 residential units.
Sacra1X NEO costs $20,000 or $500 a month, and remote human operators in VR headsets run its Expert Mode inside customers’ homes.

What a person does
A human host attends every Home Day for ID checks, safety, kids and pets. A lawyer writes the access, liability and privacy agreement once, a broker arranges liability insurance, and the owner approves any outreach or recruiting post.
What if a robot breaks something or hurts someone?
Every Home Day has a human host on site and general liability insurance in place. The host checks IDs and keeps kids and pets safe, and every incident is logged.
Will my family be filmed?
Only with consent, agreed in writing before the day. Footage of children and private spaces is blurred and consented, as privacy law requires.
Why wouldn’t a lab just build its own panel?
Some big labs do, like Sunday and Figure with Brookfield, but those panels are in-house. Mess Bank is one shared panel that any lab can book.
